WorldFree4u: Bollywood, Hollywood and South dubbed films, from Dangal and K.G.F to Avengers: Endgame

In January 2019 WorldFree4u was one of the best-known movie blogs in India. A plum wordmark sat above a loud magenta menu bar, and a long column of posts announced the latest arrivals: Zero with Shah Rukh Khan, K.G.F: Chapter 1 with Yash, Hollywood blockbusters and dubbed South Indian hits, each with a framed poster, a rating, the genres, the director, the release date, the star cast and a short synopsis in bold type. WorldFree4u returns with that same bright blog and a new purpose. Every post introduces a film or a series with its details and story, and a Watch now link opens it on the official services in your country.

The WorldFree4u design

This WorldFree4u is rebuilt from the archived January 2019 capture of worldfree4u.lol, which ran on a WordPress theme called Quietude. Its style sheet and inline colours were measured one by one: a soft off-white page with a thin dark purple line along the very top, a plum colour for the wordmark and the links, a vivid magenta for the menu bar with a deeper magenta border, a dark red for the bold labels inside each post, a greyish purple for the large headings in the sidebar and a pale blue-grey for the strip at the foot of each post. The same capture shows the tagline under the wordmark, a line in quiet grey; this site keeps the idea with a tagline of its own, Where quality and story matter.

The magenta of the original was very bright, and white text on it was hard to read, so the menu bar here uses a slightly deeper magenta and the post titles a slightly deeper pink, close enough to the original that the page is instantly familiar, and clear enough for everyone. Every piece of type is Arial-style sans serif, just as on the 2019 page, and the labels keep their bold dark red.

The header and the magenta menu

The header is simple. On the left sits the WorldFree4u wordmark, World in plum, Free in a slanting pink and 4u in a deep purple, with the tagline underneath in grey. Below it runs the magenta menu bar with its thick border, and its links are white, bold and italic, exactly the style of the old bar, where Home, All Movies, TV Shows and the rest ran across the top of every page. Here the menu carries Home, All Movies, TV Shows, Bollywood, Hollywood, South Dubbed, Web Series, A-Z and My List. Point at a link and it turns black and gains an underline, the same hover effect as in 2019. On a phone the bar folds behind a magenta button, and the menu slides in with a search box at the top.

The blog posts

The heart of the home page is the column of posts, and it follows the 2019 blog closely. Each post opens with a magenta title such as Dangal (2016) Hindi Movie or K.G.F: Chapter 1 (2018) Kannada Movie, then a grey line reading Posted on with the release date and by WorldFree4u. Beneath it, the poster sits in the middle of the column inside a thin frame with a white mount, just like the framed posters of the old page.

Then come the labelled lines that made the blog easy to scan: Ratings with the score out of ten, Genre(s), Directed By, Released On and Star Cast, each label in bold dark red and each value in bold black. A series post swaps Directed By for Created By and adds the number of seasons. Next comes the Synopsis, a few bold lines of story, and a magenta Watch now link. Finally, the pale blue-grey strip at the foot of the post reads Posted in, followed by the category, such as Bollywood, Hollywood, South Dubbed, Web Series or English TV, and a link to the full title page. Ten posts fill the column, mixing Bollywood, Hollywood, South dubbed films and series, and a More posts link at the bottom opens the full list of movies.

The sidebar

The right-hand column keeps the order and the character of the 2019 sidebar. First comes Search On Site., complete with its full stop, a plain search box with a grey Search button. Then Stay Connected!, where the old page invited visitors to subscribe by email in magenta italic letters; here the same magenta italic words invite you to save the latest films and series to My List, with a plain grey button to open it, and a short note suggests pressing Ctrl+D to bookmark WorldFree4u, a line that also appeared on the original.

Recent Posts lists the ten newest titles in the catalogue in magenta, each with its year and whether it is a movie or a series. Categories keeps the look of the old drop-down menu: press Categories and it opens into every collection on the site with the number of titles in each. Archives, the last heading, leads to the A-Z index, all movies, TV shows, all collections and the help guides. On smaller screens the sidebar moves below the posts, and on a phone its sections stack in a single column.

More shelves on the home page

Below the posts and the sidebar, the home page adds three rows of posters under large grey headings. South Dubbed shows more of the Kannada, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam films, Bollywood brings the next favourites from the Hindi shelf, and TV Shows gathers popular series in English and Hindi. Each poster keeps the thin frame of the post images, with the title in magenta and the year underneath. After the shelves come the help guides, each with a one-line summary, and then this guide to the site.

A title page

Every post leads to a full title page. It shows the poster and the backdrop, the year, the running time or the number of seasons, the genres, the rating, the story, the cast with their roles and the director or creators. The viewing panel lets you choose one of fifteen countries, from India, Nepal and Bangladesh to the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Singapore, Malaysia, Pakistan, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. Pick yours and press Watch now to open the title on JustWatch, which lists every official service that carries it there. Series pages go one step further, with a page for every season and a list of every episode with its date and a short summary.

Bollywood, 2016 to 2018

The Bollywood shelf opens with the films that ruled the years around the 2019 blog. Dangal is the headline: Aamir Khan plays Mahavir Singh Phogat, a former wrestler from Haryana who trains his daughters Geeta and Babita to become champions, and the film became one of the highest-grossing Indian films of all time, with a huge following in China. Sultan took Salman Khan into the wrestling ring the same year, with Anushka Sharma as a wrestler in her own right, and Airlift starred Akshay Kumar in the true story of the evacuation of Indians from Kuwait in 1990.

The same year brought two very different gems. Dear Zindagi, from Gauri Shinde, pairs Alia Bhatt as a young cinematographer with Shah Rukh Khan as a gentle, playful therapist, and Pink is a gripping courtroom drama with Amitabh Bachchan as a retired lawyer and Taapsee Pannu among three young women he defends. Fan gave Shah Rukh Khan a double role as a film star and his obsessive lookalike admirer, and Sanam Teri Kasam became a cult romance, finding a second wave of fans when it returned to cinemas years later.

In 2017 and 2018 the shelf grows grand. Padmaavat, from Sanjay Leela Bhansali, is a vast historical spectacle with Deepika Padukone as Queen Padmavati, Shahid Kapoor as her husband and Ranveer Singh as the fearsome Alauddin Khilji. Tiger Zinda Hai brought back Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif as spies on a rescue mission, and Raees cast Shah Rukh Khan as a bootlegger in Gujarat. Raid starred Ajay Devgn as an honest income tax officer leading a famous raid in 1980s Lucknow, and Hichki gave Rani Mukerji one of her finest roles as a teacher with Tourette syndrome who wins over a class of spirited students. Zero, the film at the very top of the 2019 blog, is also here, with Shah Rukh Khan as Bauua Singh, Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif.

Bollywood, 2019 to 2022

The later Hindi films bring fresh stars and bold ideas. Uri: The Surgical Strike made Vicky Kaushal a leading man and gave the country the line How's the josh?, and War paired Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff in a globe-trotting action thriller full of chases. Badla is a tight mystery with Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu, an adaptation of the Spanish thriller The Invisible Guest. Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi stars Kangana Ranaut as Rani Lakshmibai, and Kalank is a lush period drama set in the years before Partition.

From 2021 the shelf reaches the new decade. 83 recreates India's 1983 Cricket World Cup victory with Ranveer Singh as Kapil Dev, and Sooryavanshi brings Rohit Shetty's cop universe together with Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn and Ranveer Singh. Brahmāstra Part One: Shiva is a fantasy adventure with Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, Laal Singh Chaddha is Aamir Khan's Indian retelling of Forrest Gump, and Drishyam 2 brings Ajay Devgn back as the quietly brilliant Vijay Salgaonkar. Pagglait follows a young widow finding her own voice, Attack stars John Abraham as a soldier given extraordinary abilities, and Monica, O My Darling is a stylish comic noir with Rajkummar Rao, Huma Qureshi and Radhika Apte.

Horror, comedy and twists

Some of the most talked-about Hindi films of these years came from smaller budgets and big ideas. Andhadhun, from Sriram Raghavan, follows a pianist played by Ayushmann Khurrana who pretends to be blind and stumbles into a crime, with Tabu in a wickedly funny role; it won the National Film Award for Best Hindi Film. Tumbbad is a dark folk tale set in a rain-soaked Maharashtra village, where a family hunts for a cursed treasure, and its images are among the most striking in modern Indian cinema. Stree, with Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor, turned a small-town legend about a ghost who calls men by name into a hit horror comedy and started a whole universe of sequels and spin-offs.

These films sit on the Thriller and crime and Comedy shelves beside quieter treasures. Sir, from Rohena Gera, is a tender Mumbai story about a domestic worker with dreams of becoming a fashion designer, first shown at the Cannes Film Festival. Open any of them and read the synopsis on the post before choosing: the labelled lines make it easy to find the mood you want.

Hollywood: the Marvel years

The Hollywood shelf covers roughly 2016 to 2020, the years when superhero films filled every multiplex in India, often in dual audio. Captain America: Civil War set the Avengers against one another, Doctor Strange brought magic and folding cities, and Spider-Man: Homecoming gave the web-slinger a school-age reboot, followed by Spider-Man: Far From Home. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and Thor: Ragnarok added colour and comedy, Black Panther became a worldwide phenomenon, and Captain Marvel introduced Carol Danvers.

All of it built to Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, two of the most watched films ever made; Endgame in particular played for weeks in Indian cinemas, with shows running around the clock. Watch them in order for the full effect. The DC side is represented by Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse offers an animated take on the hero that won the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature.

Hollywood beyond the superheroes

The same years produced many films worth seeing again. La La Land is a bittersweet musical set in Los Angeles, Arrival is a thoughtful science fiction story about language, and Blade Runner 2049 is a sequel of astonishing beauty, both from Denis Villeneuve. Joker gave Joaquin Phoenix an Academy Award, Get Out turned a weekend visit into a sharp thriller, and A Quiet Place made silence frightening. Knives Out is a clever whodunit with Daniel Craig, The Gentlemen is a stylish Guy Ritchie crime comedy, and Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood is Quentin Tarantino's love letter to the Los Angeles of 1969.

True stories and adventure complete the shelf. Hacksaw Ridge follows a real army medic in the Second World War, and Hidden Figures tells the story of the Black women mathematicians behind NASA's early space flights. Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw, Star Wars: The Last Jedi and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker bring the big franchises, and The Conjuring 2 and Alien: Covenant suit horror fans. The Hollywood guide gathers the highlights.

Animation for the family

Animated films were always popular on the blog, especially in Hindi. Coco, Pixar's colourful journey into the Mexican Land of the Dead, is one of the most loved films of the decade, and Zootopia turns a city of animals into a detective story. Toy Story 4 and Incredibles 2 return to much-loved characters, Frozen II takes Elsa and Anna into an enchanted forest, and Cars 3 puts Lightning McQueen back on the track. Sonic the Hedgehog mixes animation and live action. The Family shelf gathers them together with family films from India, such as 777 Charlie.

Kannada: the K.G.F years

The South Dubbed shelf is where WorldFree4u really shines, and Kannada cinema leads it. K.G.F: Chapter 1 was one of the two posts at the very top of the 2019 blog, and it changed Indian film. Yash plays Rocky, a boy from the Mumbai streets who rises to power in the Kolar Gold Fields, and director Prashanth Neel shoots it all in dust, gold and slow-motion fury. K.G.F: Chapter 2 followed in 2022 with Sanjay Dutt as the villain Adheera and Raveena Tandon as the Prime Minister, and became one of the biggest hits in Indian history, in Kannada, Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam alike.

Then came Kantara, written and directed by Rishab Shetty, who also plays the lead. Set in the forests of coastal Karnataka, it weaves the Bhoota Kola spirit tradition into a story of land and belonging, and its final twenty minutes stay with you long after the credits. 777 Charlie is a heartwarming road movie in which Rakshit Shetty's lonely factory worker travels across India with a Labrador named Charlie, and Vikrant Rona is a 3D fantasy mystery with Kichcha Sudeep.

Kannada gems

Kannada cinema of these years also produced a wave of fresh, witty films. Kirik Party, directed by Rishab Shetty and starring Rakshit Shetty, is a lively engineering college comedy that became a youth favourite, and Avane Srimannarayana is Rakshit Shetty's playful fantasy western. U Turn, from Pawan Kumar, is a tense mystery built around a Bengaluru flyover, and Kavaludaari follows a traffic policeman who reopens a decades-old case.

Raj B Shetty brought a new voice from Mangaluru. Ondu Motteya Kathe is a gentle comedy about a balding young lecturer looking for a bride, and Garuda Gamana Vrishabha Vahana is a bold gangster drama about two friends. Thithi, set in a village near Mandya with a cast of non-professional actors, won awards at the Locarno Film Festival, and Godhi Banna Sadharana Mykattu is a moving story of a son searching for his father, played by Anant Nag. Love Mocktail, Bell Bottom, Hebbuli and Dia complete a shelf that rewards exploring.

Telugu epics and blockbusters

Telugu cinema supplied some of the biggest dubbed hits of all. Bāhubali 2: The Conclusion, from S. S. Rajamouli, answered the question the whole country had asked for two years, why Kattappa killed Baahubali, and broke box-office records in Hindi as well as Telugu. Rajamouli then made RRR, an epic of friendship with N. T. Rama Rao Jr. and Ram Charan as two revolutionaries in 1920s India; its song Naatu Naatu won the Academy Award for Best Original Song.

Pushpa: The Rise made Allu Arjun's red sandalwood smuggler a pan-Indian icon, with dialogue and dance moves copied everywhere, and Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo is a sunny family entertainer with Allu Arjun whose songs topped the charts. Sita Ramam is a beautiful romance set in the 1960s, with Dulquer Salmaan as a soldier and Mrunal Thakur as the mysterious woman who writes to him. The Ghazi Attack, with Rana Daggubati, is a submarine thriller set during the 1971 war, Saaho is a big-budget action spectacle with Prabhas, and V pits Nani against Sudheer Babu in a cat-and-mouse thriller.

Tamil: Lokesh Kanagaraj and the new action

Tamil cinema of these years produced one of the most exciting new directors in India. Lokesh Kanagaraj's Kaithi follows Karthi as a just-released prisoner who drives a truck full of poisoned policemen through a single, dangerous night, and it plays like a race against the clock. Master pits Vijay as a free-spirited college professor against Vijay Sethupathi's gangster, and Vikram brings Kamal Haasan back with Vijay Sethupathi and Fahadh Faasil in a thriller that links up with Kaithi, creating a shared universe fans love to decode. Watch Kaithi before Vikram to catch every connection.

Tamil stars and storytellers

The shelf is full of the big names. Vijay leads Theri and Mersal, two energetic hits from director Atlee, and Rajinikanth stars in Kabali, as an ageing gangster in Malaysia, in Petta, a stylish tribute to his own screen legend from Karthik Subbaraj, and in 2.0, Shankar's science fiction spectacle in which Akshay Kumar plays a bird-loving villain. Suriya carries 24, a time-travel adventure built around a magical watch, and Soorarai Pottru, inspired by the life of the founder of a low-cost airline, which won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film.

Director Vetrimaaran brings raw power to Vada Chennai, a gangster saga in which Dhanush plays a carrom player drawn into the underworld of north Chennai, and to Asuran, a searing drama of caste and revenge with Dhanush as a farmer protecting his family. Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan: Part I adapts Kalki's famous novel about the Chola empire, with Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Karthi, Jayam Ravi and Trisha.

Tamil thrillers and romance

Some of the finest thrillers of the decade are Tamil. Vikram Vedha casts R. Madhavan as a police officer and Vijay Sethupathi as the gangster who keeps telling him stories, a modern spin on the tale of Vikram and Betaal. Ratsasan is a nerve-racking hunt for a serial killer, Dhuruvangal Pathinaaru is a clever police procedural from a first-time director, and Jai Bhim is a stirring courtroom drama in which Suriya plays a lawyer fighting for a tribal family. On the romantic side, 96 with Vijay Sethupathi and Trisha, about two school sweethearts who meet again at a reunion, is among the most tender Tamil love stories ever filmed. All of them appear on the South dubbed guide as well.

Malayalam: stories from Kerala

Malayalam cinema earned a devoted audience across India in these years, and the shelf shows why. Minnal Murali, from Basil Joseph, is a superhero film with a tone all its own, in which Tovino Thomas plays a village tailor struck by lightning, with a warm sense of humour and a heartfelt villain. Ayyappanum Koshiyum is a thrilling clash of egos between a police officer, played by Biju Menon, and a retired army man, played by Prithviraj Sukumaran, and was later remade in Telugu. Virus recreates the 2018 Nipah outbreak in Kozhikode with a huge ensemble cast, and Drishyam 2 brings Mohanlal back as Georgekutty, the family man who will do anything to protect his family.

Mohanlal also leads Lucifer, Prithviraj Sukumaran's first film as director, a political thriller that became a huge hit, and Pulimurugan, an adventure about a tiger hunter in the forests. Dulquer Salmaan stars in Kurup, about one of Kerala's most famous fugitives, and in Kali, Solo and Jomonte Suvisheshangal. Tovino Thomas appears in Mayaanadhi, a haunting love story, in Forensic and in Thallumaala, a brash, colourful comedy of brawls.

Fahadh Faasil, perhaps the finest actor of his generation, leads Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum, a wry tale of a stolen gold chain, and Trance, about a motivational speaker who becomes a celebrity preacher. Hridayam, from Vineeth Sreenivasan, follows Pranav Mohanlal from college to adulthood in a story set to a much-loved soundtrack, Parava is a joyful film about teenagers and their racing pigeons in Mattancherry, Jana Gana Mana is a courtroom thriller with Prithviraj Sukumaran, and Mukundan Unni Associates™ is a darkly funny satire with Vineeth Sreenivasan as a very ambitious lawyer.

Hindi web series

The TV Shows menu of the 2019 blog pointed to a new kind of viewing, and WorldFree4u gathers the Hindi web series that defined it on the Web Series shelf. Panchayat, from TVF, stars Jitendra Kumar as an engineering graduate who takes a job as secretary of a village council in Phulera, and its gentle comedy and warm characters made it one of the most loved Indian series of all. Gullak is just as warm, a series of small stories about the Mishra family in a small north Indian town.

The thrillers are just as popular. The Family Man, from Raj and DK, casts Manoj Bajpayee as Srikant Tiwari, a middle-class father who secretly works for an intelligence agency and juggles terror plots with parent-teacher meetings. Delhi Crime, with Shefali Shah as a senior police officer, won the International Emmy Award for Best Drama Series, and Special Ops, from Neeraj Pandey, follows Kay Kay Menon as an agent tracking a mastermind across two decades. Jamtara – Sabka Number Ayega tells the story of young phone scammers in a Jharkhand town.

Lighter series complete the shelf. Bandish Bandits is a romance between a classical singer from Jodhpur and a pop star, with music by Shankar–Ehsaan–Loy, Hostel Daze is a funny look at life in an engineering hostel, Mismatched follows two very different students at a coding summer school, and Inside Edge goes behind the scenes of a glamorous cricket league. The web series guide suggests where to begin.

English TV series

The English TV shelf gathers popular American and British series of the same years, each with every season and episode. Stranger Things follows a group of friends in 1980s Indiana who face a mysterious world called the Upside Down, and it ran for five seasons. The Good Doctor stars Freddie Highmore as a brilliant young surgeon with autism, This Is Us follows the Pearson family across several decades, and Young Sheldon tells the childhood story of the famous physicist from The Big Bang Theory.

For action, The Rookie stars Nathan Fillion as the oldest rookie in the Los Angeles police, S.W.A.T. follows Shemar Moore's tactical unit, SEAL Team puts David Boreanaz at the head of an elite navy squad, and 9-1-1 follows Los Angeles firefighters, paramedics and dispatchers through spectacular emergencies. Ted Lasso is pure comfort, with Jason Sudeikis as an American coach leading an English football club, and Yellowstone is a sweeping ranch drama with Kevin Costner. The Crown, Marvel's The Punisher, Star Trek: Discovery, DC's Legends of Tomorrow and Lucifer add history, comic-book action, science fiction and a devilishly charming detective series. See the TV shows guide for more.

Dual audio, then and now

The old WorldFree4u was famous for dual-audio posts, films with both a Hindi track and the original language. Today dual audio is standard on the official services. Most Hollywood films and South Indian hits on the major Indian platforms come with a Hindi track beside the original, and many add Tamil, Telugu, Kannada or Malayalam as well. You switch between them from the audio menu while the film plays, and you can switch back at any moment.

That means you can watch K.G.F in Kannada or Hindi, RRR in Telugu or Hindi, and Avengers: Endgame in English or Hindi, whichever feels right that evening. Subtitles come in English on almost every title and in several Indian languages on many. The dual audio and subtitles guide explains the settings.

How Watch now works

Every post and every title page on WorldFree4u carries a Watch now link. Press it and you reach the viewing panel, where you choose your country, and a second press opens the title on JustWatch. JustWatch lists every official service that carries the title in that country, with subscription, rental, purchase and free options side by side, so you can see at a glance where it plays and what it costs. The how to watch guide walks through the steps.

Where the titles stream

In India, most of the catalogue appears on JioHotstar, Netflix, Prime Video, ZEE5 and SonyLIV, and the web series sit mainly on Prime Video, Netflix, SonyLIV and JioHotstar. Outside India, Netflix, Prime Video and South Asian services carry many of the same titles, and Apple TV, Google TV and Prime Video rent or sell many films, often in 4K. Availability changes as licences move between services, which is why the Watch now link checks JustWatch each time. The streaming services guide gives more detail.

Phones, laptops and TVs

WorldFree4u works in every modern browser, on a phone, a tablet, a laptop or a desktop computer. On a phone the magenta menu folds behind a single button and the sidebar moves below the posts, so the page stays easy to read with one thumb. You can add WorldFree4u to your home screen from the browser menu, where it opens like an app.

The films themselves play in each service's official app. Install those apps from Google Play, the App Store or your television's own store. Fire TV, Google TV, Apple TV, Android TV boxes and most smart TVs run them, and casting sends the picture from your phone to the big screen in a couple of taps. The apps and devices guide covers each option.

Picture and sound

The films of this period were made for digital projection, and most stream in full HD, with many in 4K and HDR. The big spectacles benefit most: Bāhubali 2: The Conclusion, RRR, Blade Runner 2049 and Avengers: Endgame look superb on a large screen, and K.G.F: Chapter 2 was designed for thundering sound. Allow about 5 Mbps for HD and 25 Mbps for 4K, and connect a soundbar or good headphones for the biggest soundtracks. On a slower connection, choose a lower quality in the player and the film will keep playing smoothly.

Free and legal options

Some of the catalogue can be watched free and legally. JioHotstar, ZEE5 and MX Player offer free sections with many Hindi and dubbed films, supported by adverts, and several Indian studios and music labels publish full films on their official YouTube channels. When you press Watch now and choose your country, free options appear on JustWatch beside the paid ones. The free movies guide lists the best places to look.

My List

The Stay Connected! box in the sidebar leads to My List, your personal shelf on WorldFree4u. Press Add to My List on any title page to save a film or a series, and on a season page mark the episode you reached, which is handy for long series such as 9-1-1, The Rookie or Panchayat. My List is stored in your own browser, works straight away and belongs to you alone. Export saves it to a small file, and Import restores it on another phone or computer. The My List guide has the details.

Finding a title

There are several ways to find what you want. The Search On Site. box in the sidebar, and the search box in the phone menu, look through titles, stars and directors; press Enter for the full results page, where you can narrow the list to films or series. The magenta menu leads straight to All Movies, TV Shows, Bollywood, Hollywood, South Dubbed and Web Series, and the Categories menu in the sidebar opens every collection, from Kannada, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam to Action, Comedy, Thriller and crime, Fantasy and sci-fi, Drama, Family, New releases and Top rated. The A-Z index lists everything alphabetically, and the finding titles guide explains each route.

Top rated and new releases

The Top rated collection gathers the titles with the highest scores from a large number of votes. Dangal sits there with Joker, Coco, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Hacksaw Ridge, Hidden Figures and Knives Out, along with long-running series such as The Good Doctor and Stranger Things. The New releases collection starts in 2021, with K.G.F: Chapter 2, RRR, Kantara, Vikram, Minnal Murali, Sita Ramam, 83 and Brahmāstra Part One: Shiva among the highlights.

Recognising WorldFree4u

The WorldFree4u name has been used by many copies over the years, so it helps to know the real design. This WorldFree4u has the plum wordmark with Free in slanting pink, a grey tagline, a magenta menu bar with white bold italic links, blog posts with dark red labels and pale Posted in strips, and a sidebar with large grey headings. Every Watch now link leads to JustWatch and from there to the official services. Bookmark the home page with Ctrl+D, or add it to your phone's home screen, and you will always return to the right place. The official site guide repeats these signs.

Streaming safely

A few habits keep streaming safe and simple. Install apps only from official stores, give each service its own strong password and switch on two-step sign-in where it is offered. Before entering payment details, check that the address bar shows the real name of the service. WorldFree4u links only to JustWatch, and JustWatch links to the official services, so every step stays on trusted ground. The safety guide keeps the checklist short.

If a page is slow

If WorldFree4u seems slow, load the home page and then any post; if both appear, the site is working. Refreshing the page, clearing the browser cache, trying another browser or switching between mobile data and Wi-Fi usually solves the rest. Playback itself happens on the streaming service, so its help centre is the right place for any playback question. The site status guide lists the quick fixes.

Remakes across languages

One of the pleasures of this catalogue is following a story from one language to another. Drishyam 2 with Mohanlal came first, in 2021, and Drishyam 2 with Ajay Devgn followed in 2022; watching both shows how two industries shape the same clever plot. Laal Singh Chaddha reworks the American classic Forrest Gump for India, Badla adapts a Spanish mystery, and Ayyappanum Koshiyum became the Telugu film Bheemla Nayak. Vikram Vedha was remade in Hindi with Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan by the same directing pair, Pushkar and Gayathri. With dual audio on most services, you can compare versions side by side.

Directors to follow

Several directors shaped these years. S. S. Rajamouli, with Bāhubali 2: The Conclusion and RRR, proved that Telugu films could fill cinemas across the world. Prashanth Neel built the K.G.F saga, Lokesh Kanagaraj created a connected world with Kaithi and Vikram, and Rishab Shetty moved from Kirik Party to Kantara. Vetrimaaran's Vada Chennai and Asuran are powerful studies of power and resistance, Sriram Raghavan's Andhadhun is a masterclass in twists, and in Hollywood, Denis Villeneuve's Arrival and Blade Runner 2049 and the Russo brothers' Avengers films defined the era. Search a director's name in Search On Site. to find their films.

The stars of the shelf

The catalogue reads like a who's who of Indian cinema. Shah Rukh Khan appears in Fan, Raees, Dear Zindagi and Zero, Aamir Khan in Dangal, Thugs of Hindostan and Laal Singh Chaddha, and Salman Khan in Sultan, Tiger Zinda Hai and Dabangg 3. Akshay Kumar leads Airlift and Sooryavanshi, Ajay Devgn Raid and the Hindi Drishyam 2, Ranveer Singh 83 and Padmaavat, and Rajkummar Rao Stree and Monica, O My Darling. From the South come Yash, Prabhas, Allu Arjun, Vijay, Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, Suriya, Dhanush, Mohanlal, Fahadh Faasil, Dulquer Salmaan and Tovino Thomas, and Taapsee Pannu, Alia Bhatt, Deepika Padukone, Trisha and Sai Pallavi shine throughout. The Bollywood guide is a good place to start with the Hindi stars.

Ideas for a movie night

If you are planning an evening, a few pairings work beautifully. For a family night, try 777 Charlie followed by Coco, or Hichki with Toy Story 4. For a thriller double bill, Andhadhun and Ratsasan keep the tension high, and Kaithi followed by Vikram makes a thrilling long evening. For spectacle, start with K.G.F: Chapter 1 and go straight on to K.G.F: Chapter 2. For something gentle, 96, Sita Ramam and Hridayam are romances to savour, and for laughter, Stree, Kirik Party and a few episodes of Panchayat or Ted Lasso will lift any mood.

Sport on screen

Sport runs through the shelf. Dangal and Sultan are both wrestling stories from Haryana, 83 relives the day India won the Cricket World Cup at Lord's, and Inside Edge explores the business side of cricket. Ted Lasso brings the warmth of English football, and Kirik Party and Hostel Daze capture the energy of college life. Together they make a lively theme for a weekend.

Festival releases

Indian film releases have always followed the festival calendar, and many titles on the shelf were holiday events in their year. Salman Khan's Sultan and Tiger Zinda Hai arrived for Eid and Christmas, Dangal opened just before Christmas 2016, and Zero and K.G.F: Chapter 1 landed on the same December weekend in 2018, which is why they sat side by side at the top of the 2019 blog. In the South, the Sankranti and Pongal holidays brought Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo, Petta and Master, and the Kerala summer holidays and Onam season drew big crowds for Malayalam hits such as Lucifer and Thallumaala. Watching one of these films at home during the same festival is a lovely way to relive the excitement.

Watching from abroad

Many WorldFree4u readers live outside India, in the Gulf, the United Kingdom, North America, Southeast Asia and beyond. The viewing panel covers fifteen countries for exactly that reason. Choose the country where you are right now, since that is where the services will play, and JustWatch lists the services that carry the title there. In the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Qatar, Netflix, Prime Video and regional services carry many Hindi and South Indian films; in the United Kingdom, the United States and Canada, Netflix, Prime Video and South Asian services cover a large share of the catalogue, and rental stores fill many of the gaps. Your country choice is remembered in your browser for the next visit.

Watching together

Many of these films are made for a full room. The big songs of RRR and Pushpa: The Rise invite everyone to sing along, Stree is at its best with friends who jump at the right moments, and Dangal, 83 and 777 Charlie bring grandparents and children together. For family watching, cast the film to the television, choose the audio language everyone prefers and turn on subtitles for anyone who follows better in another language.

Privacy

WorldFree4u keeps things light and ready to use at once. My List, your chosen country and the episodes you mark are stored in your own browser, on your own device. Posters and details load from TMDB, and the site font loads from Google Fonts. The privacy page explains each item in plain words.

How the catalogue is chosen

The catalogue follows the spirit of the 2019 blog. It gathers the Bollywood and Hollywood films of roughly 2016 to 2022, Kannada, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam hits that travelled across India in dubbed versions, and popular English and Hindi series. Every title is chosen by hand for a general audience, and the whole catalogue is drawn from TMDB, which supplies the posters, stories, cast and episode lists. The sister site World4uFree covers the earlier years, from 2005 to 2015, so the two together span two decades of Indian and Hollywood cinema.

A short history of WorldFree4u

WorldFree4u has been around since the early 2010s, when its first pages used the same Quietude theme, and by 2019 it had become one of the most searched movie names in India, with posts arriving every day and a menu that stretched from movies and TV shows to songs and games. That busy, colourful blog is the one many viewers remember, and it is the look this rebuild brings back. The difference is where each post leads: every film and series now opens on the official services that carry it, in your country.

A first visit

On a first visit, scroll through the posts on the home page and read a few synopses. Press Watch now on one that appeals, choose your country and follow JustWatch to the service. Save a few titles to My List for later, open the Categories menu to explore Kannada, Tamil or Malayalam cinema, and try the South dubbed collection if you usually watch in Hindi. Within a few minutes, WorldFree4u will feel as familiar as it did in 2019.
